Free Speed Test

Having problems running the speed test? If so, here are some troubleshooting tips that may help.

This speed test is built using Java, so you'll need the official Sun Java Runtime Environment (JRE) which can be found here. This speed test works with just about any browser and operating system.

A box should have displayed that has 3 options (Upload Speed, Download Speed, Both)

Test Internet Speed

If you didn't see this speed test box or a box with a red x in it, then you may not have the latest version of Java or it may not be configured correctly.

If the speed test does not work in Internet Explorer, make sure you are using Sun's Java technology. This is a known issue with IE and the speed test.

If you receive a message stating that you can't connect when running the speed test, make sure your firewall is not blocking the ports used by the speed test.

NOTE: There are a number of issues that may impact your speed test results which include ISP cap on speeds, congestion, programs on your computer such as update programs, etc that may be accessing the internet and more.
