Internet Access
DSL or ADSL, provide digital data transmission over the wires of a local telephone network. DSL used to stan for digital subscriber loop. It is now referred to as digital subscriber line and verified using this DSL Speed Test.
Typically, the download speed of DSL ranges from 128 kilobits per second (kbit/s) to 24,000 kbit/s depending on DSL technology and service level implemented. Upload speed is lower than download speed for Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) and equal to download speed for Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line (SDSL).
Broadband Internet access, often shortened to "broadband Internet" or just "broadband", is a high data-transmission rate internet connection. DSL and cable modem, both popular consumer broadband technologies, are typically capable of transmitting faster than dial up modem (56 kilobits per second). The real maximum speed of a dial up modem is only 48 Kilobits/second.
Broadband Internet Access
Broadband Internet access became a big item in areas all over the world in early 2000 and at least one study showed a growth of 27% in 2003.
Modern consumer broadband up to 30 Mbit/s are several hundred times faster than those available in the past.
